He also studied music writing, composition and orchestration at the Cercle Lémanique d’Etudes Musicales and the Conservatoire de Sion.

Bertrand Moren has already won many awards as a trombonist. He was the principal trombone of Brass Band Treize Etoiles for nearly twenty-five years, and for about ten years principal trombone of the Swiss Army Brass Band. He has recorded two solo CDs, «Bolivar» and «Explorations» with the Philarmonic Wind Orchestra of Prague. He also recorded a duet album with his sister Jocelyne on alto, «Duel», accompanied by the Brass Band Treize Etoiles.

He has composed more than 250 works for the wind band and for various brass ensembles (brass quartet, tuba quartet, brass ensemble and especially brass band). He has also composed for choir and orchestra.

It should be noted that the latter presents compositions and arrangements for wind band, a type of band for which Bertrand Moren is writing more and more.

His works have been performed almost all over the world, including Asia, Oceania, America and Europe. One of his pieces was premiered at the bCarnegie Hall in New York in 2015 by the American professional trumpet ensemble «Tromba Mundi».

He currently writes mainly on commission, for cultural events such as competitions, concerts, theatres and others. He is also very active as an arranger.

He also devotes a lot of time to leading two village brass bands, the «Concordia» of Vétroz (championship section) and the «Marcelline» of Grône (1st section).
